We were touched recently to come across a photograph in The Sunday Times — a beautiful portrait of a remarkable Englishwoman, taken in the drawing room of her country house, a fire burning in the grate. A woman who spent decades in devoted service to Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, as one of her most trusted ladies-in-waiting.

 We won't name her, as that isn't our place, but we will say that her quiet, elegant choice of a British-made dress felt entirely in keeping with a life lived with discretion, loyalty and style.

Since 1919, we have made dresses here in England. Designed to be worn on the occasions that matter, and kept for the ones that follow. The kind of dress that doesn't date, because it was never chasing a trend in the first place.
